Method: open-top test box internally 300 × 300 × 300 mm; plate 230 × 230 mm, thickness 6.5 ± 0.5 mm, opening 205 mm. Separate viewing hood about 2 m³; extraction off during test. Dry-conditioning option requires a separate oven at 105 ± 2 °C.

Annex A: open-top box internally 380 × 380 × 380 mm; draught-free surroundings. Measure affected-area radius from nut application centre; report use face and observable underside separately, greatest radius to nearest 5 mm. Nut and heating tolerances remain outside this legible-clause review.

Control and recording specification

Method code and edition, specimen ID, operator and selected test parameters are linked to the record.
The calculation and endpoint are defined by the selected method edition; instrument signals and operator assessments are kept distinct.
Raw measurements, units, valid/invalid test flags and the reported result remain traceable.
Calculations are checked against known inputs and an independent calculation; sensor channels are checked against calibration values.
