Horizontal Flammability Tester
Yatay Yanmazlık Test Cihazı
Horizontal burning rate. Automotive upholstery and plastics. Fully complying with fire safety regulations, it analyzes the flammability and burning behavior of materials with the highest precision. Equipped with superior safety features.
Model technical data
- It is designed stainless steel cabinet with observation window, sample holder and burner.
Physical specifications and utilities
| Electrical supply | Approx. 220–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, single phase; build-dependent. |
|---|---|
| Power / connected load | Approx. 20–100 W connected load for preliminary planning. |
| Overall instrument dimensions | Approx. 600 × 400 × 600 mm (W × D × H). |
| Instrument weight | Approx. 20–40 kg net. |
| Gross / shipping weight | Approx. 32–60 kg gross; estimated packing allowance. |
| Lab requirements | Method-specified test gas, regulator and exhaust / fume hood; gas type and flow follow the selected method and burner. |
Dimension order and approximate values are stated in each row. Packaging data are separate from instrument dimensions and net mass. Approx. rows are preliminary engineering estimates based on comparable equipment and function/capacity; they are not verified manufacturing measurements or standard requirements. Installation and shipment are finalised against the approved drawing and nameplate. Estimate scope: base product / one unit; external computer, bench and auxiliary plant excluded.
Specifications, dimensions, and power requirements are approximate and subject to change without prior notice for continuous design improvements.
Product technical specifications and images may vary according to manufacturing conditions and applicable standards.
Test and configuration
- Measured output / function
- Horizontal burning rate (mm/min) and extinction behaviour
- Parameters selected for the method
- Horizontal holder, gauge marks, burner and flame duration
- Verification points
- Burner/gas flow, geometry and timing
Listed methods are application references. Suitability is established by assessing the selected hardware, current method and calibration together.
Test parameters for the reviewed method
Values belong to the stated source edition. Test recipe, fixture and delivered instrument configuration are selected together.
49 CFR 571.302 / eCFR 20.10.2026 · S5.1.1, S5.1.3-S5.3
- Cabinet internal dimensions 381 × 203 × 356 mm; U-frame opening 51 × 330 mm; burner bore 10 mm and flame height 38 mm. Flame application 15 s; burning rate is 60 × distance(mm)/time(s).
ASTM D5132-04 · 6.1, 10.4–10.8, 11; Figures 1, 5–7
- 2004 edition: U-holder opening 50 × 330 mm; burner 19 ± 1 mm below specimen underside. Flame height 38 ± 2 mm, application 15 s. Read time to 0.1 s and length to 1 mm. Methane/natural gas with approximately 20 kPa regulated supply; operate extraction as this method specifies.
- Burning rate B = 60D/T, mm/min; record actual burned distance D and time T. These are 2004 clauses; equivalence to current ASTM D5132-25 or full-standard conformity is not verified.
Control and recording specification
The following are method-specific software/recording requirements; delivered software modules are defined by the order scope.
- Method code and edition, specimen ID, operator and selected test parameters are linked to the record.
- The calculation and endpoint are defined by the selected method edition; instrument signals and operator assessments are kept distinct.
- Raw measurements, units, valid/invalid test flags and the reported result remain traceable.
- Calculations are checked against known inputs and an independent calculation; sensor channels are checked against calibration values.
