Upholstery Flammability Tester

Döşemelik Yanmazlık Test Donanımı

Apparatus for assessing upholstery assemblies exposed to an ignition source. Cigarette and match-flame-equivalent procedures are specified separately with their standard part and fixtures.

Model technical data

  • Includes large and small test rig, timer, flow meter.

Physical specifications and utilities

Electrical supplyApprox. 220–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, single phase; build-dependent.
Power / connected loadApprox. 20–100 W connected load for preliminary planning.
Overall instrument dimensionsApprox. 1200 × 1000 × 1200 mm (W × D × H).
Instrument weightApprox. 50–100 kg net.
Gross / shipping weightApprox. 80–150 kg gross; estimated packing allowance.
Lab requirementsMethod-specified test gas, regulator and exhaust / fume hood; gas type and flow follow the selected method and burner.

Dimension order and approximate values are stated in each row. Packaging data are separate from instrument dimensions and net mass. Approx. rows are preliminary engineering estimates based on comparable equipment and function/capacity; they are not verified manufacturing measurements or standard requirements. Installation and shipment are finalised against the approved drawing and nameplate. Estimate scope: base product / one unit; external computer, bench and auxiliary plant excluded.

Specifications, dimensions, and power requirements are approximate and subject to change without prior notice for continuous design improvements.

Product technical specifications and images may vary according to manufacturing conditions and applicable standards.

Test and configuration

Measured output / function
Ignition and progressive burning of upholstery composites
Parameters selected for the method
Seat/back assembly, filling and specified ignition source
Verification points
Burner/gas flow, geometry and timing

Listed methods are application references. Suitability is established by assessing the selected hardware, current method and calibration together.

Test parameters for the reviewed method

Values belong to the stated source edition. Test recipe, fixture and delivered instrument configuration are selected together.

EN 1021-1:2014 / TS EN 1021-1:2014 · 6.1

  • The reviewed part is cigarette ignition source -1 only. Seat/back frames lock at 90°; internal width 450 ±2 mm, back height 300 ±2 mm, seat depth 150 ±2 mm. Match-flame-equivalent part -2 requires separate verification.

BS 5852:1990, Amendments 1-2 · 9.1-9.3

  • Upholstery-composite small rig: two frames lock at right angles; vertical internal opening 450 ± 2 × 450 ± 2 mm, horizontal base 450 ± 2 × 300 ± 2 mm. Timer measures at least 1 h with 1 s accuracy. Internal frame dimensions are not cabinet overall dimensions.

Control and recording specification

The following are method-specific software/recording requirements; delivered software modules are defined by the order scope.

  • Method code and edition, specimen ID, operator and selected test parameters are linked to the record.
  • The calculation and endpoint are defined by the selected method edition; instrument signals and operator assessments are kept distinct.
  • Raw measurements, units, valid/invalid test flags and the reported result remain traceable.
  • Calculations are checked against known inputs and an independent calculation; sensor channels are checked against calibration values.
